Acupuncture has been used for the relief of pain for many centuries. In our clinic, we draw on traditional knowledge from the far east and we practice acupuncture in a way that is supported by modern medical research. 

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for the relief of pain, through the stimulation of nerves and release of pain-relieving chemicals by the brain. It can be combined with other approaches to achieve maximum benefit. 

Doctor Hubert van Griensven has a Diploma in Chinese Acupuncture (DipAc). He is an Advanced Member of The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Doctor van Griensven has taught professional courses in acupuncture across the UK and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire. He holds a Phd, an MSc in pain and is a Chartered Physiotherapist.
